Has anyone tried The Chicago Way from Great Escape Games?

I’ve read the rules and I bought 7 Moonshiners, 7 cops, a police wagon and a vehicle for the moonshiners. I’ve got everything painted up except for the moonshiners car. Once that is done, I can try out the game. The rules look very similar to Dead Man’s Hand (another ruleset I haven’t tried yet). The Chicago Way rules put a lot of emphasis on vehicles and it feels like you will get the most out of the game when using them. This is just speculation at this point, since I haven’t done a demo game yet. I’ll write up a review for this site once my painting is done and I’ve gotten a few test games in.

What are you going to use for terrain?

I’ve got some misc. barrels I painted up (Reaper Bones and another brand). I’ve also got some 4-Ground pre-painted laser-cut buildings that I like a lot. They only take about an hour or so to put together and they look great. The only downside is that they smell like a campfire, because the laser trimmer burns them when it cuts.

As it turns out, I still don’t have my Chicago Way miniatures ready (one car still needs to be painted) so I game tested Dead Man’s Hand instead. Dead Man’s Hand review is here: https://centurionsreview.com/dead-mans-hand/dead-mans-hand-review/

The rules are extremely similar to The Chicago Way.
