As it turns out, I still don’t have my Chicago Way miniatures ready (one car still needs to be painted) so I game tested Dead Man’s Hand instead. Dead Man’s Hand review is here: https://centurionsreview.com/dead-mans-hand/dead-mans-hand-review/

The rules are extremely similar to The Chicago Way.

That’s actually a good game. I should have never sold my copy.

Yep, that’s it. I liked it quite a bit (even though I lost). It is a card game that involves resource gathering, building and fighting monsters. What I found the most interesting is that there is multiple ways to get victory points. I’ll probably pick up a copy of this the next time I get to the game shop.

I’ve got some misc. barrels I painted up (Reaper Bones and another brand). I’ve also got some 4-Ground pre-painted laser-cut buildings that I like a lot. They only take about an hour or so to put together and they look great. The only downside is that they smell like a campfire, because the laser trimmer burns them when it cuts.

I’ve read the rules and I bought 7 Moonshiners, 7 cops, a police wagon and a vehicle for the moonshiners. I’ve got everything painted up except for the moonshiners car. Once that is done, I can try out the game. The rules look very similar to Dead Man’s Hand (another ruleset I haven’t tried yet). The Chicago Way rules put a lot of emphasis on vehicles and it feels like you will get the most out of the game when using them. This is just speculation at this point, since I haven’t done a demo game yet. I’ll write up a review for this site once my painting is done and I’ve gotten a few test games in.

Long time no see! The site will be open for business in about a month (around August 20th, 2017). Right now, only the forum is working. I’m planning on reviewing some of the folio and minigames from Decision Games in the near future. In addition to that, I’m planning on reviewing all of the games from the new Ares Magazine. There will also be reviews of some Euro’s, etc.
